Performing Arts
Drama
Students often participate in the Sears Drama Festival giving them an opportunity to act, produce and direct a production. We also have the Odyssey Theatre group who stage plays for our local audiences to enjoy. Our larger drama productions usually involves over 30 students and multiple staff members. Recent musicals have been this year's GREASE! Coming this spring is "The Tempest" directed by Mr. Scott.
Music Program
The Opeongo High School Music Department offers classes in instrumental music (band), guitar, piano and voice. As well, we have four groups; Junior Band, Senior Band, Jazz Band and Jazz Cats (Choir). Through these outlets, students have many opportunities to develop and share their musical talent with parents, peers, community and farther afield on trips and at festivals.
Festivals
Our Band and Jazz Cats have several performances planned as well as appearances at Festivals. Our fall season will be filled with music and drama. Dates to be announced.
