Clubs
Opeongo High School offers a variety of extracurricular clubs that span many interests and subjects. Many of our students comment that clubs are a great way to meet new people, especially students from other grades. Opeongo High School encourages students to join a club and share their talents. You can also visit performing arts for more of our extracurricular clubs.
Below are some of our clubs:
- Free the Children - supports the charity that empowers children to effect change and free them from poverty and exploitation.
- Back Me Up - a club that supports initiatives to end bullying and improve inclusion at our school.
- Odyssey Theatre
- 4H Clubs - Opeongo 4-H members are part of 5,900 across Ontario who use their Head, Heart, Hands and Health to follow the motto "Learn To Do By Doing".
- Interact - a Rotary-sponsored youth service club for youth ages 12-18 who want to connect with others, have fun while carrying out service projects and learn about the world. There are at least 2 service projects a year: one that benefits our community and one that encourages international understanding.
- Gamers Club
- Yearbook - is an excellent opportunity for students to work together to capture the memories and events of the school year and provide their peers with a lasting memento. Students take pictures, write captions and learn many processes that are required to publish the annual yearbook. Yearbook meets in the Library Tuesdays at Lunch.
- Outers Club -Camping.
- Reach For the Top - is a Canada-wide knowledge competition, and a lot of fun.
- OSAID - Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving is focused on promoting an important issue that can have consequences for all.
